The border control posts in the country were busy with many people exiting and entering the country on the first day of the New Year.

At the Sungai Tujoh Control Post in the Belait District, the hustle and bustle can be felt by all staff of the Immigration Department early in the morning. All the facilities provided by the Government at the immigration control posts can help facilitate inspection and control tasks. The public, in the meantime, are advised to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before starting the journey.

The same activity was also observed at the Labu Control Post in the Temburong District. Throughout December until the beginning of New Year, thousands of people were reported to have crossed the border, making the task of staff of the Department of Immigration and National Registration more challenging in ensuring the smooth and safe movement of the public.
